Peter Pan review
November 15th 2015
To start, I liked the vibe that I got when I walked into the blackbox. There was an electric feeling and everyone was so excited, mixed with the music and people hustling to their seats. Then the director came on and gave her little speech that everyone knew they had to hear but just wanted to see the play already. The starting scene was interesting, and I liked how the lighting put all the focus on the narrator of the play. Finally the play started and we saw the mother, the father, the daughters and the two sons. I thought that the dog was funny too( like everyone else). I liked the way that the beds were set up and I liked the way that Maddie played the little boy. Then Peter Pan came on the stage and I was a little confused where he came from. He wakes up the daughter while looking with tinker bell for his shadow. I thought that the daughter would have dated a little more surprised but that is just me. Then they take their trip to never land which is followed by a rapid scene change which is a little awkward but is really the only thing that can be done to change the scenery. I liked the way that Peter pans friends were played, and I liked the way that the pirates were played. Abby was probably the best pirate in my opinion. I liked the way that they made so many jokes about the pirates hand and when Peter tells them to let go the Indian. Speaking of the Indians, I did not understand a word they said but maybe that's how they were suppose to be played? In any case, the fighting scene was alright but Peter Pan and hook could not seem to hit each others sword, they would just swing and miss which was kind of funny but I thought they could have done a better job. The intermission came and I had to leave because I had to go and see my brother at college with my dad. I'm sure that the ending was awesome and I was as to have to leave early.
