The traits of a good ted talk

When looking at the ted talks in class, it was obvious that some were better than others. We watched the one about multipontentialites, another one on being successful, and one about the wonders of the ocean. When watching the 3 of these, it was obvious that some were better than others. There was just some thing that put it above the other ones, and that is how entertaining it is. On a teen-age level at least, it is most important to keep the audience engaged, and interested in the talk. The best way to do this is to keep it interesting and not ranting.
When watching the ted talk on multipontentialites, it was obvious that she was losing the attention of the audience, and was also talking to a specific audience. Also, as we discussed in class, she had her microphone way to close to her mouth so you heard her take huge breaths of air in between each sentence. She also contradicted herself at the end saying to embrace what you are rather than doing what she said and taking on all of your interests which confused me. This girl had an interesting topic but she lost my interest after about 5 minutes. I think that hers was the worst od the 3 that we watched.
My second favorite was the one about being successful. Now while I think that he was a credible source and a funny guy, I believe that he picked a topic that was very original. I'm sure that there have been many ted talks on what makes a person successful so I wasn't that interested in the topic right odd the gecko. His was the shortest which I liked because it kept my attention for he full 4 minutes or however long it was. Like I said, this guy did a lot of good research, but his topic was not original which I didn't like.
So that leaves my favorite ted talk, the 5 minute clip that was on the wonders of the ocean. Now while this video was not narrated by the best, or funniest speaker, it had incredible videos that caught everybody's attention, and never let go. I am willing to rate that as the top ted talk solely because of the videos, and because of how cool and interesting those visuals and videos were.
So it is pretty clear the what makes a ted talk good in my opinion is the ability for the talk to capture, and keep the audiences attention. Whether it is through the act of visual aids or videos, or picking a topic at grabs the audiences attention, the audience can't get bored for however long your talk is.

My blog is not enough words so I need to continue to write. I think that you shouldn't take points off if the blog is close to 500, but just in case I'm going to continue to talk and bring up my word count. And I have enough words now.
